‘Small Environs’ is the debut release of Apalusa, the nom de plume of Nottingham resident Dan Layton. Taking a sidestep from his role as guitarist in avant rock band Souvaris, here Dan presents a 20 minute, three-movement suite of processed guitar, piano and static to form a constantly evolving, ambient composition of immense power and depth. Sublime nocturnal listening, recommended between the hours of 2 to 4am in the morning. 3" cdr packaged in a clear mini-dvd case with wraparound insert printed on white vellum paper. Ltd edition of 50 copies. Review at Avant Gardening Review at Sonomu The Wire, August 2007 - 'Size Matters' review by Byron Coley |
