Following on from his widely acclaimed, Kranky released debut album ‘Mezzotint’, this complementary full length release by Chris Herbert offers up a rich collage of found sounds and manipulated guitar. Originally composed for broadcast as part of the ‘Framework’ series of programmes on London based avant-garde radio station Resonance FM, the 57-minute piece, ‘Diluted’ makes extensive and original use of field recordings captured around the canals and waterways of Herbert’s native Birmingham as a bedrock to build upon his subtle yet engaging drones. This audio tour guide establishes a vivid mood of time, geography and space, allowing the listener to fully immerse him or herself within.

At the artists request, all profits from this release are to be donated to the restoration fund of the Moseley Road swimming pool in Birmingham, a Grade II listed Edwardian building.
